CAT events create significant opportunity but they can overwhelm a business just as quickly. This practical workshop will explore what Members need to consider before, during and after a major event, whether responding in their own market or supporting another DKI Member. From capacity planning, staffing and estimating to equipment, communications, documentation, cash flow and knowing when to stop accepting work, Members will examine the decisions that determine whether a CAT response becomes a success or a CAT disaster. Drawing on lessons from recent DKI events, the session will help Members build a practical CAT readiness plan that protects their people, customers, reputation and business while allowing them to confidently capitalize when demand surges.
Being busy and being profitable aren’t the same thing. This interactive workshop takes Members beyond revenue to explore the operational and financial decisions that determine how much value their business creates. Using practical restoration-business scenarios, Members will see how changes in gross margin, labour utilization, estimating, billing speed, receivables, write-offs and cost control can have a significant impact on profitability and cash flow. The session will challenge Members to look differently at growth, understand the numbers that matter most, and identify where small improvements in their own business can produce meaningful financial results.
